District 8 Background: District 8 is located within Douglas County. Democrat Incumbent Megan Hunt of Omaha is unable to seek another term due to term limits. Dr. Erin Feichtinger is an Omaha native, Marian High School graduate, and holds degrees in Special Education and History from Loyola University Chicago. She has worked in nonprofit advocacy, helping build policy programs at Together and serving as Policy Director for the Women's Fund of Omaha, where she focused on issues including domestic violence prevention and minimum wage increases. Feichtinger's legislative campaign emphasizes protecting reproductive healthcare, supporting public education, and promoting economic development in Nebraska. Feichtinger is the sister-in-law to Sen. John Cavanaugh and Sen. Machaela Cavanaugh.

Josh Livingston is an Omaha-based family law attorney and graduate of the Creighton University School of Law. A former deputy county attorney, he has been active in community organizations, youth soccer, and legal advocacy, including representing physicians in litigation related to Nebraska's abortion-access ballot initiative. Livingston's campaign focuses on supporting Nebraska families through safer neighborhoods, strong public schools, affordable healthcare, and expanded economic opportunities.
