NE-02 GOP CANDIDATE BRINKER HARDING SUBMITS PERSONAL FINANCIAL DISCLOSURES

OMAHA— Republican congressional candidate Brinker Harding has filed his overdue financial disclosure report after facing criticism for missing federal deadlines. The filing shows income from his real estate business, Omaha City Council salary, and family investments, including holdings in companies such as Pfizer.

Democratic candidate Denise Powell criticized Harding over those investments, while Harding countered by raising questions about Powell’s past consulting work for nonprofit organizations that are currently involved in a lawsuit over alleged foreign funding of ballot initiatives. Powell’s campaign said her work was focused on organizing and communications and was unrelated to fundraising. The disclosures have added another point of debate in the competitive race for Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District ahead of the Nov. 3 general election.
