The proposals include increasing per-student foundation aid by at least 4% annually and keeping the state’s share of K-12 funding at least 51%. If implemented, the changes could provide nearly $55.5 million in additional aid to school districts. The recommendations now head to the Nebraska Legislature, where lawmakers must weigh increased education funding against a projected $209 million state budget shortfall.
