LINCOLN—Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen is promoting the state’s “Good Life is Calling Veterans” initiative, aimed at attracting veterans and their families through employment opportunities, education, and benefits. Since launching in July, the campaign has contacted more than 85,000 service members nationwide and offers assistance with jobs, housing, and relocation. The state also plans to host virtual career fairs beginning in mid-December to connect veterans and military spouses with Nebraska employers. The initiative is funded through proceeds from Nebraska’s “Support Our Troops” license plates.
