NEBRASKA ATTORNEY GENERAL DOUG PETERSON ANNOUNCES RUN FOR RE-ELECTION IN 2018

Doug Peterson announced that he will be seeking re-election as Attorney General in 2018. He cited wanting to continue work against human trafficking and prescription drug abuse as reasons he wants to be re-elected. During his term Peterson has also taken strong stances against medical marijuana and the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, resulting in some criticism from some political opponents. He indicated that he won't soften his stances on controversial issues like these. “I’m not looking for controversies, but controversies come to the Attorney General’s Office,” Peterson said. “I’m not going to back away from my statutory, constitutional duties.”
