A recent report released by the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services shows a mixed bag of successes and failures. The report was submitted to law makers to show how the $1.5 Million increase in funding was spent by the Department of Correctional Services and what the results were. The report shows some mild successes in trying to decrease worker turnover as well as decrease violent situations in the prisons. However corrections administrators said it's hard to really know which efforts worked because they tried so many at once. The prison workers union also said that even with increased funding workers are still having to work too much overtime, which causes fatigue and burnout.
