SARPY COUNTY CITY LEADERS COME TOGETHER IN HOPES OF EXPANDING SEWER SERVICE

This Tuesday representatives from Sarpy County and all five of its cities signed an agreement creating an interlocal sewer agency. This agency will oversee the construction of a new wastewater system that will expand sewer service to the southern part of the county. Sarpy County will provide $250,000 as a starting budget for the agency with the cities contributing nothing. The project is estimated to cost $220 million, the money for which will come from grants, public-private partnerships, customer revenue, and connection fees from new developments.
